Loreto Ministries is a Catholic Ministerial Public Juridic Person (MPJP) entrusted with the governance and leadership of six Loreto schools across Australia. About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of mission and formation across the Australian Loreto network.

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Steward Directors and Loreto Ministries Leadership Team, you will lead the strategic development of formation across Loreto Ministries, ensuring the mission, charism and values of Mary Ward continue to inspire governance, leadership and decision-making.

As part of a small team based at the Loreto Centre in Hawthorn East, you will design and lead formation experiences, develop mission resources, accompany senior leaders and foster a culture where Catholic identity is lived authentically throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership for an organisation’s formation and mission program
  • Proven ability in designing, facilitating and evaluating formation experiences for Steward Directors, Board Directors, Principals, executive leaders and staff
  • The capacity to develop new and creative mission and formation resources grounded in the Mary Ward tradition
  • Ability to support the implementation of Loreto Ministries’ strategic mission priorities
  • Demonstrated success in designing and leading adult formation
  • Demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships across the Loreto network and with key partners
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of discernment, collaboration and mission-centred leadership.

This is a full-time position with some interstate travel required.

We seek a collaborative and authentic leader who combines theological understanding with practical leadership. We are looking for someone passionate about Catholic mission, who enjoys forming others for leadership and is committed to helping people grow in their understanding of purpose, faith and service. We are seeking someone who is creative in their work and an individual who thrives in a team environment.

You will bring:

  • a demonstrated commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church, together with an understanding of the role of a Ministerial Public Juridic Person within the Church
  • tertiary qualifications in theology, missiology, religious education, ministry leadership or a related discipline (or currently undertaking postgraduate study)
  • experience in Catholic identity, formation and mission within education or another faith-based setting
  • proven ability to design, facilitate and evaluate adult formation and leadership programs
  • exceptional relationship-building, communication and facilitation skills
  • demonstrated strategic thinking, planning and organisational capability
  • experience leading and developing teams to achieve shared goals.
