Mercy Partners is a dynamic, multi-charism Public Juridic Person (PJP) in the Catholic Church, dedicated to continuing God’s mercy through the work of its ministries. The name reflects the mercy of God at work in partnership.    Throughout 2025, Mercy Partners has been reviewing its Formation model and developed a new Formation for Mission Policy and Framework for Trustee Directors.

This interesting and diverse, mission focused Formation leadership role supports the Mercy Partners Trustee Directors and ministries in delivering Catholic Health, Aged Care and Community and Disability services, Education, Social Enterprise and Social Justice across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

They seek a new Director of Formation to strategically lead and operationalise the plan to ensure the systemic delivery of quality Formation services and acceptance of accountability for those responsible for delivering it. You will be required to travel to Ministry locations across the East Coast and help imbed and deliver the Formation services.

In this role you will:

  • Lead in collaboration with the Mercy Partners Formation Committee and panel of Formation consultants in the strategic development and delivery of Formation services.
  • Plan and develop formation content that supports the integrity of the Catholic Identity of Mercy Partners and its Board Ministries.
  • Work in partnership with our Ministry Boards in their Formation planning and support the continued development of Ministry Mission Leads.
  • Execute planning and managing Mercy Partners Formation reporting and accountability.
  • Be part of the Mercy Partners staff team working in partnership to provide quality communications and resources.

What You will Bring

You are a Formation or Mission focussed Executive with 5 years leadership and have tertiary qualifications in theology, religious studies or a similar related field. Your understanding of a Catholic faith based organisation and their governance structures, along with experience planning, developing and implementing formation programs related to Catholic Identity will underpin your success here.

You must

  • Be committed to contributing to a world where the healing, liberating and life-giving mercy of God is experienced.
  • Possess exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical ability.
  • Have a track record of influencing positive changes and being able to work collaboratively and consultatively with a broad, diverse group of people
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to connect with a variety of stakeholder groups.
