Job Description

  • Join our team to inspire minds, hearts and spirits
  • Full-time, educational leadership position – early 2025 start
  • Based in Forbes, NSW

About Us

Situated in the heart of the Lachlan Valley in Central West NSW, Red Bend Catholic College is a co-educational Years 7-12 Catholic Day and Boarding school in the Marist tradition. The College educates around 900 students from rural, regional and remote areas to provide an extensive Catholic education.

We aspire to create an environment which enables students to develop spiritually, intellectually, physically, culturally and socially. Through our Marist charism, we engage minds, hearts and spirits, inspiring our students to live well-rounded, ethical lives of respect, service and compassion.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced leader to take up the role of Director of Mission and Catholic Identity, commencing in 2025, although an earlier start date will be considered.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Deputy Principal, you will be a key member of the College Executive Team. You will be responsible for the development and promotion of the Marist charism and Catholic tradition of the College, and give expression to these through the development and implementation of a range of educational programs and faith experiences.

You will work collaboratively with the College Leadership Team to develop and implement a plan for the spiritual and professional development of staff in regard to Marist formation, Religious Education, Social Justice and Liturgy; and lead and collaborate with staff to create a shared vision for the spiritual development of students.

As an educational leader, you will support staff in integrating Gospel values across the curriculum and fostering pedagogical practices that provide meaningful opportunities for faith development.

This position involves a teaching load which is yet to be determined. Given the nature of the role, you will at times be required outside the “normal” College hours to support the College Executive in various forums, and to attend meetings and presentations as required.

About You

You will be an exceptional educational leader with a strategic vision and passion for learning, teaching and faith formation.

Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience (middle leadership experience is preferred)
  • Active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community, commitment to Catholic education and a desire to enliven the Marist tradition of the College
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective change and develop high quality policies and procedures to support initiatives
  • Effective management and organisational skills and administrative experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, including collaborative planning, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to personal and professional development and a willingness to undertake relevant postgraduate studies
  • Capacity to motivate, enthuse and lead staff in fulfilling their duties

Applicants must meet or be working towards the criteria for Accreditation to ‘Work and Teach’ in a MSA school.

What’s on Offer?

  • The opportunity to be part of a vibrant, rural community and an organisation focussed on preparing young people to live well-rounded lives
  • Supportive work environment and ongoing professional development and training
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including salary packaging options
  • Relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

Enquiries and Application Process

Before submitting an application, interested candidates are encouraged to contact Anthony Spata at Reach HR on 0402 210 055 for a confidential discussion and to obtain a copy of the Information Pack.

Applications must include a resume and cover letter.  Your cover letter must address how your skills, knowledge, experience and personal attributes align with each of the Key Requirements of the role as outlined above.

Applications are to be sent to Anthony at [email protected] by 8 November 2024.
