About the Role
This is a truly unique opportunity to bring your clinical expertise and experience leading multi-skilled teams ideally in an aged care setting to a group of religious women who serve the needs of each person in their care, especially those who are poorest and/or weakest, and doing so in reverence of the sacredeness of humnan life and for the uniqueness of each person.
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal role responsible for leading and managing the clinical operations of the Little Sisters of the Poor’s Sydney aged care 60 bed facility, Mount Saint Joseph’s Home (Home) based in Randwick. You will have responsibility for the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, legislative requirements, and best practice.
The Director of Nursing collaborates closely with the Mother Superior to uphold the Home’s mission, values, and spiritual care framework, ensuring residents receive holistic support that integrates clinical excellence with compassionate service. The Director of Nursing will also be responsible for ensuring non-clinical departments comply with the Aged Care Quality Standards and legislative requirements at all times.
Key to this role will be your ability to actively support the life and mission of the Little Sisters of the Poor and to foster the advancement of their ministry to the community.
This role is a permanent, full-time appointment and based at Randwick. Occassional requirement to work outside normal business hours will be required. Ample parking is available.
About You
Your experience in a similar role, as well as your knowledge of the health and aged care sectors as well as the relevant Aged Care Quality Standards and the accreditation process will be key to this role.
Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:
- An appreciation for, and a demonstrated alignment with, the mission, values and philosophy of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
- Minimum of 5 years post registration clinical experience.
- Experience in coordinating and leading a multi-skilled team.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to the provision of residential aged care services.
- Knowledge of the scope of practice of the various levels of health professional and support staff in the residential aged care environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the ageing process and aged related health issues.
- High level financial management skills.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work confidentially in a sensitive environment
