Job Description

The Archdiocese of Hobart is the expression of the Catholic Church in Tasmania and includes the Catholic Church parishes throughout the state. The Diocesan Centre provides service support to the parishes and to other pastoral, welfare, community service and treasury functions of the Archdiocese of Hobart.

About the Opportunity
As the Director Professional Standards you will report directly to the Executive Director – Administration and Finance of the Archdiocese of Hobart while also being guided by the Archbishop of Hobart for the delivery, advise and assists in all professional standards matters. The Director Professional Standards is also responsible for the management and operation of the Safe Communities Office. The Safe Communities Office is responsible for the Archdiocese’s proactive safeguarding initiatives.

About You
We are looking for an experienced leader with a proven track record in a professional standards, safeguarding and/or regulatory compliance role.
A demonstrated high level of investigations and risk management ability. Knowledge and understanding of the National Redress Scheme and safeguarding compliance practices.
You must have unrestricted working rights in Australia. At a minimum, a National Police Check, Registration to Work with vulnerable people and a valid unrestricted driver’s licence. Knowledge of the statutory requirements of Workplace Health and Safety standards, Duty of Care, Privacy legislation, Mandatory Reporting and Anti-Discrimination legislation.
