The De La Salle Brothers ANZPPNG District is seeking to appoint three (3) Lay Partners as formal members of its Economic Council to strengthen stewardship, strategic decision-making, and long-term sustainability across the District’s ministries and assets.
The positions are national (Australia) and meetings are generally held via Zoom.
We invite expressions of interest from experienced professionals who can contribute at a high level in one of the following areas:
- Strategic Investment (2 positions)
Experience in investment strategy, portfolio governance, funds management, treasury, institutional asset allocation, risk, or investment oversight.
- Property (1 position)
Experience in property strategy, asset management, development, valuations, leasing, transactions, or real estate portfolio governance.
About the Economic Council
The Economic Council supports the District leadership in the prudent stewardship of resources in service of mission. Lay Partners bring independent professional expertise, strategic perspective, and sound governance judgement.
Council members contribute to discussion and oversight in areas such as:
- long-term financial sustainability and stewardship
- investment strategy and risk oversight
- property portfolio strategy and asset optimisation
- major transactions and capital planning
- governance, accountability, and mission-aligned decision-making
We are seeking people who bring:
- senior executive, advisory, or board-level experience
- strong commercial and strategic acumen
- sound judgement, integrity, and discretion
- the ability to engage constructively in a mission-based environment
- alignment with values-based leadership and ethical stewardship
Desirable (but not essential)
- prior board / committee / council experience
- experience in education, not-for-profit, faith-based, or community organisations
- relevant qualifications in finance, investment, property, law, or governance
Appointment type and commitment
- Formal member of the Economic Council
- Six meetings per year
- Meetings are generally held via Zoom, so applicants may be based anywhere in Australia
- Additional time required for reading papers and occasional out-of-session input
Term
Initial term of 3 years with potential for renewal by agreement
Remuneration
Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed
