The Strategic Plan 2025–2027 “an education to believe in” sets BCE’s direction as the organisation continues to pursue its vision of being a faith filled learning community creating a better future.

The BCE Education Strategy will deliver transformational experiences that inspire joy for learning, where excellence and equity enable all to grow and thrive. It centres on three goals:

The Role of Education Excellence Executive

In this pivotal role, the Education Excellence Executive leads the delivery of the BCE Education Strategy at system scale. Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a key member of the Executive Team, the appointee will bring the gravitas, judgement and whole-of-system perspective required to translate strategy into disciplined, executable action across a diverse school network.
BCE is requiring an exceptional leader who can embed existing reforms, strengthen system coherence, and ensure rigorous, data-driven delivery against critical milestones. The role demands the ability to synthesise multiple system inputs, academic achievement, inclusive education, teacher capability, Catholic identity, safeguarding, health, safety & wellbeing, and national and state reforms into clear and aligned system strategy.

This leader will influence 146 principals and over 14,000 staff by building trust-based relationships, ensuring strategic focus, and aligning resources with BCE’s priorities. They will provide executive oversight of daily operations across all schools to maintain consistent performance and a high-quality learning and wellbeing environment.

In this position you will:

  • Lead the implementation of the BCE Education Strategy with disciplined clarity and system alignment
  • Embed existing reforms and guide BCE through its next phase of system maturity
  • Ensure system level coherence across learning, wellbeing, school performance and resource planning
  • Direct and support principals and senior leaders through evidence-based, high impact practice
  • Strengthen governance accountability, including reporting to the Catholic Education Council and its Education Sub-Committee
  • Champion innovative models of service delivery and the effective and ethical use of AI.
