Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Executive Assistant with exceptional organisation and planning skills to assist two Members of the Congregational Leadership team based in NSW.

 

In this role you will provide executive support and coordination to the Members of Council based in New South Wales.

 

A strong builder of relationships, you will liaise with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders who are involved in the life and mission of the Sisters both here and abroad.

This position is a full-time role and is located at Glebe. Ample parking is available and the office is close to public transport.

 

The Organisation

The Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the Order of St Benedict (Sisters) are a group of religious women within the Catholic Church. Founded in 1857 as the first religious Congregation in Australia, we are committed to assisting the most vulnerable, to being of service to others and to a communal way of life. Our work in responding to the call to be neighbour in different ways, times and places continues to this day, fulfilling our vision to be missionary disciples here in Australia, Kiribati, the Philippines and Japan.

 

About You

This role will suit someone who has initiative and great communication and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to act with discretion and have strong organisational and time management skills.

 

Ideally, you will also possess the following:

  • At least 5 years experience as an executive assistant to a senior leader or manager
  • An appreciation of and commitment to supporting the life, mission and charism of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan
  • Advanced skills in Office 365 and associated software

 

  • Experience in planning and coordinating effective meetings including drafting agendas, organizing supporting documentation, minute taking, preparing action lists, setting up virtual meetings, negotiating the hiring of venues and provision of refreshments
  • Experience in managing complex and changing diaries, including scheduling, and negotiating appointments and meetings
  • The capacity to anticipate requirements of the Members of Council in advance of item deadlines, meetings and other events and organise required documentation and other resources
  • Experience in Adobe creative cloud or similar desktop publishing programs
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Desirable (but not essential) will be your experience working with Boards and/or knowledge of Diligent (BoardEffect) and databases
