Job Description

Jesuit Education Australasia  is currently recruiting for high calibre Executive Director, Education, Leadership & Formation. 

Jesuit Education Australasia (JEA) was established in 2017. It is a work of the Society of Jesus in Australia. JEA has the responsibility to provide strategic oversight and governance of the educational ministry within the Australian Province of the Society of Jesus.

The role of the JEA Executive Director, Education, Leadership and Formation is to promote and enhance, in consultation with the JEA Chair and JEA Board, the strategic direction of Jesuit education in Australia through positive engagement and collaboration with Jesuit Colleges and Companion Schools and national and state and diocesan Catholic education offices, to support the delivery of quality Jesuit education and promote the Australian Province’s mission and goals.

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced leader (e.g. a former Principal or senior leader in Catholic school systems) with a strong understanding of, and commitment to, the values of Catholic Education in the Ignatian tradition. They will have contemporary experience as a senior education leader of a school with ability to engage with Ignatian spirituality, education and leadership, especially within the context of the Catholic Church. They will be an experienced, astute, and agile leader who can navigate ambiguity and lead through influence. Furthermore, they will have a ‘future-focussed’ perspective on education and with the ability to bring in global best-in-class trends in education leadership and the delivery of formation programmes.

The role can be based in Melbourne/Sydney/Adelaide.
