SPIRITUALITY MINISTRY, SISTERS OF ST JOSEPH
Finance and Administration Officer (Part Time – 18-20 Hours per week-Flexible)

The Spirituality Ministry, Sisters of St Joseph’s (SOSJ) is a none for profit Catholic organisation, committed to a “whole of ministry” framework, which offers new and exciting possibilities.
The SOSJ Ministry overseas seven conference and retreat centers across the country.
Purpose:
Uphold, through word and deed, the ethos and mission of the Spirituality Ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

Key Responsibilities:
The Finance and Administration Officer will cover all accounts payable, payroll and other ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance and Shared Services Manager.
Accounts Payable:
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring compliance to payment terms on the organisation’s finance system.
- Prepare bi-monthly pay runs
- Communicating with suppliers regarding billing, payments or recovery of over-payments and addressing any other queries
- Reconciling staff credit cards and petty cash transactions.
HR/Payroll:
- Process fortnightly payroll, oversee payroll changes, ensure compliance with laws and internal policies
- Maintain accurate records and resolve HR/Payroll related issues in a timely manner
- Drafting employee’s position description, publishing job advertisements,
- Monitor/update Working with Children Check (WWCC) records for staff
- Consult with Catholic Employment Relations, liaise and provide HR advice to Centre Managers.
Other duties:
- Processing company credit card applications/cancellations and card limits etc
- Monitor daily transactions in the bank and record keeping
- Assisting in annual budgeting, monthly board reporting and month/year-end forecasts of revenue and expenditure
- Assisting in the annual external audit of accounts
- Ad hoc duties when required.

Necessary criteria:
- Qualifications in, finance, accounting, general bookkeeping and business administration or equivalent experience
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office/Office 365 and accounting software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible and able to work well both autonomously and in a team environment
- 3-5 yrs experience in similar or role in the hospitality industry or other relevant organisations.
- Current working with Children Check
- Current crime checks certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Willingness to embrace and respect the Purpose, Vision, Mission and Values of the Spirituality Ministry
