Are you a visionary leader ready to shape the future of Catholic education in the Diocese of Lismore? We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager, People and Culture to lead a transformative people strategy across 45 vibrant school communities serving over 18,000 students.

With a strong foundation in the Mission of the Church, we support approximately 3,500 staff across a diverse and expansive region of NSW.
Description
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Strategy, People & Communication, this pivotal role will lead a multi-disciplinary team across HR, WHS, payroll, and organisational development. You’ll drive strategic workforce transformation, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with the Mission, Vision, and strategic priorities of DLCS.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a high-performing People & Culture team.
- Drive strategic HR initiatives including performance, learning, and talent development.
- Oversee WHS systems and foster a proactive safety culture.
- Provide expert advice to the Board, Director of Catholic Schools, and Executive Leadership.
- Champion organisational change and workforce capability development.
Profile
To be successful, you will be a seasoned executive with:
- 10+ years in senior People & Culture leadership roles.
- Proven success in leading change within complex organisations.
- Expertise in HR strategy, WHS, industrial relations, and payroll.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A commitment to the values and Mission of Catholic education.
Qualifications & requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, IR, Business or related field (postgraduate preferred).
- Valid Working with Children Check and a cleared National Police Check.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
