About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Formation Lead to join a Catholic provider of health care services for people at every age and stage of life. In this role you will play a pivotal role in implementing the Mission Formation Strategy, including through planning, implementing and evaluating formation and education opportunities for staff at all levels of Mercy Health.

Duties include:

  • Maintaining working relationships with leaders and managers in Health Services, Healthy Ageing and Support Services and supporting them in developing their staff in relation to mission and formation
  • Presenting at staff forums (e.g. orientation), workshops and communication through various internal media to promote, explain, clarify, and reinforce the centrality of mission, values, and ethos to Mercy Health and to all who work within the organisation
  • Communicating, planning and delivering events and rituals related to the Catholic identity of Mercy Health, including prayer and liturgical celebrations
  • Supporting staff and leaders to understand Catholic teaching with regard to ethical issues in health and aged care, including by developing resources to support familiarity with the Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia.

What you’ll bring

The work of Formation and mission leadership is important and nuanced. If you are interested in supporting a diverse group of dedicated staff and leaders to continue to deepen their understanding of the purpose, values and guiding principles of our organisation, we welcome your application.

  • Practical experience, knowledge and understanding of application of Catholic theology, Catholic Social Teaching principles and contemporary teachings of the Catholic Church.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
