Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview is a Catholic boys’ school in the Jesuit tradition. Located on picturesque grounds in Lane Cove, this leading independent school delivers a holistic education for day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.

We are seeking an innovative, dynamic and experienced educational leader for the position of Head of Faculty – Mathematics to join our team. The Head of Faculty – Mathematics is responsible for the development and articulation of a faculty philosophy and vision which drives the ongoing development and supervision of the curriculum and the quality of teaching and learning that is provided to each student in the faculty. The role also includes fostering professional development and providing guidance to Mathematics staff to ensure continuous growth and excellence in teaching practices.

The position is full-time, ongoing commencing 23 January 2025.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will:

  • be an outstanding classroom teacher who models best practice teaching and learning
  • have a detailed understanding of the NSW curriculum framework across Stages 4 – 6
  • have experience teaching Extension 2 Mathematics will be looked upon favourably

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will:

  • demonstrate strategic leadership capabilities and have a well-developed understanding of contemporary educational issues and pedagogical approaches related to the faculty and broader school context
  • hold a postgraduate qualification in educational leadership or similar (desirable)
  • demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
  • demonstrate the capacity to develop and sustain strong interpersonal relationships and establish productive partnerships
  • demonstrate high level administrative and organisational skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as highly developed interpersonal skills
  • a proactive approach demonstrating personal initiative, adaptability and time management skills
  • the ability to multi-task and set priorities with acute attention to detail
  • hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people
