Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Leader of Faith, Formation and Mission is a senior member of the College Executive Team.The role is designed to lead the school community in taking forward the evangelising mission of the Catholic Church, within the existing school charism/s and tradition. The Leader of Faith, Formation and Mission has a particular responsibility to lead the Catholic life of the College community by strengthening the partnership between the College and local parishes and for engaging young people and staff into responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community through developing an effective knowledge of their faith and through a range of initiatives and activities.

*Please note, Coordinator appointments are 5 years full time contract with the option of an additional 5 years subject to ongoing successful Performance Reviews.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications Licences and Competencies

  • Postgraduate academic qualifications additional to initial teacher training.
  • Accreditation for Senior Leadership in a Catholic School (Category E, Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or working towards Accreditation.
  • NESA Accreditation at Proficient Status or beyond.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check.
  • Successful Candidate to Undertake a National Criminal History Check.

Skills and Experience

  • Membership of a Catholic faith community is essential.
  • Recent school or system Leadership experience.
  • Highly developed communication skills in a range of forums and media.
  • Knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning pedagogies, curriculum and practice 7-12.
  • Ability to think critically, strategically and operationally, implementing a structured cycle of improvement initiatives, reflecting on and adapting processes as required to meet successful outcomes.
  • A high level of relational skills evidenced in a range of circumstances.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and analyse data relevant to scope of practice and position.
  • Experience in management of budgets, understanding of relevant policy, administration procedures and other areas of governance as appropriate to the scope and intent of the role.
  • Formal qualifications in Scripture, theology and/or religious education is desirable.
  • Experience as a faith leader within a school is desirable.
