Marist Schools Australia Limited (MSA) draws together 58 Catholic school communities inspired by the spirituality and educational vision of St Marcellin Champagnat. Within this family of schools, 12 are governed by MSA, while the remaining schools operate through shared governance and partnership arrangements.

Technology plays an increasingly important role in achieving this mission. As MSA continues to strengthen its digital capability and modernise its technology environment, we are seeking an experienced and visionary ICT leader to shape the future of technology across our organisation.

About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of Business, the Leader of ICT is responsible for developing and delivering MSA’s technology strategy while leading the organisation’s ICT function. This newly established role provides a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of technology across MSA while remaining actively involved in the delivery of key ICT initiatives and services. Acting as the critical bridge between Executive leadership and technology delivery, you will ensure ICT investments deliver measurable value, support organisational priorities and enable exceptional educational outcomes.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, school leaders and external technology partners, you will drive digital transformation, strengthen cybersecurity, improve service delivery and oversee the implementation of technology solutions. This role is ideally suited to an experienced ICT professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to delivering practical outcomes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

As Leader of ICT, you will:

• Develop and implement MSA’s ICT Strategy and Technology Roadmap
• Partner with Executive leaders to align technology initiatives with organisational priorities
• Lead digital transformation projects and technology innovation
• Provide strategic advice to Executive and Board stakeholders on ICT investment, risk and emerging technologies
• Strengthen cybersecurity, privacy and information governance across the organisation
• Lead ICT governance, project delivery and vendor management
• Build trusted partnerships across schools and support services
• Promote the ethical, responsible and effective use of technology across the organisation.

About You

You are an experienced ICT leader who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery and enjoys building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated leadership experience in ICT, digital transformation or technology management
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Experience aligning technology strategy with organisational objectives
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ICT concepts to non-technical audiences
• Proven experience leading organisational change and delivering successful technology initiatives
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for continuous improvement
• An understanding of, and willingness to support, the ethos, mission and values of Marist Schools Australia
• Eligibility to hold (or currently hold) a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check

Highly regarded:

• Experience with education technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS) and collaboration platforms
• Familiarity with ICT service management and delivery frameworks such as ITIL, TOGAF and Agile methodologies

Experience within education, community services or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.

The position is based at the Marist Centre, Mascot (Sydney). Occasional interstate travel to support schools and national initiatives will be required.
