Job Description

We are a Catholic Coeducational Secondary College with two campuses, set on approximately 20 hectares of beautiful gardens and playing fields. MacKillop is a college in the Josephite tradition, inspired by the spirit of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop; we invite passionate engagement in lifelong and authentic learning, respect diversity and support every person in the pursuit of excellence.

MacKillop is an innovative learning community offering contemporary facilities, a vibrant curriculum and supportive wellbeing programs that are respectful and responsive to the individual needs of approximately 1,730 students from Years 7-12.

About the role

Located in Werribee South, our St Mary’s campus is a brand new, customed built learning environment for approx. 160, Year 9 students. MacKillop College invites experienced educators seeking a leadership position with significant influence to support the design and implementation of a new campus-based curriculum.

This role will work closely with the Head of Campus to build a culture of professional collaboration, drawing upon contemporary research, student data, and educator expertise to inform and improve teaching practice and pedagogy.

As a curriculum leader, you will ensure alignment to the purpose and learning intentions of the St Mary’s program and ensure there is a shared understanding of the curriculum and that lessons are accessible and inclusive for the learning needs of all students. A key component of this role will be to build the capacity of educators at St Mary’s campus to develop enquiry-based learning opportunities that foster the St Mary’s philosophy of collaboration, community and connection.

To be successful in the role you will need a contemporary understanding of curriculum development and how to implement consistent assessments, learning resources and pedagogy appropriate for an integrated learning model.

This is a permanent, full-time teaching role, commencing in Term 2, 2025. A position of leadership allowance (POL 3) plus generous time release (400 minutes) will be allocated until January 2027.

  • demonstrated experience in curriculum leadership
  • extensive experience in classroom teaching using multiple techniques and technologies
  • a passion for engaging students in an integrated learning model
  • knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based, curriculum design and enquiry-based learning
  • a commitment to role modelling respect for every student’s learning diversity need
  • an ability to cultivate respectful relationships between students, staff and families
  • a commitment to work in a Catholic Education environment.
