Job Description

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

The Catholic Archdiocese of Perth has 106 Parishes and circa 15 Agencies within its boundaries. Each parish is led by a priest appointed by the Archbishop of Perth. Agencies are managed by a Director and deliver a wide variety of ministries, including faith enrichment and formation, liturgy, safeguarding, disability and mental health support, counselling, Aboriginal outreach, marriage and family education services, homelessness support, justice, and ecology education programmes, training courses and employment support, migrant and refugee services, and prison chaplaincy.

As an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, the Centre for Catholic Family and Justice Support Services provides a range of services to the community, including family and marriage support, life issues, and initiatives related to justice, peace, and ecology.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager, Catholic Family and Justice Support Services, is responsible for the effective day-to-day operations of the Centre.

This new role consolidates three previously separate agencies under one leadership, created from the attrition of individual agency Director positions.

The role involves a broad scope of responsibilities across administrative, specialist, and operational domains. The Manager will oversee the Centre’s budget and ensure all financial and reporting obligations to external funders are met. This position requires a practising Catholic, as the principles of Catholic Social Teaching are fundamental to the programs and services being delivered.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Program and Service Delivery: Lead the coordination of programs for pre-marriage education, marriage enrichment, counselling and natural family planning services. The role also involves collaborating with Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) to deliver family life education in Catholic schools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Church agencies, government departments, and funding bodies. Represent the Centre at Archdiocesan events and actively engage with the Catholic Social Services WA (CSSWA) Council and Committee of Management.
  • Leadership and People Management: Provide leadership and pastoral care to staff and volunteers. Manage the induction, supervision, and ongoing professional development of staff in accordance with Archdiocesan policies. Ensure all clinical and educational personnel are appropriately qualified and supervised.
  • Financial Management: Prepare the Centre’s annual budget and coordinate funding and grant applications.
  • Governance: Attend, coordinate, and contribute to meetings for the CSSWA Council and Committee of Management. Prepare and present written reports on Centre operations and maintain historical records and statistics for senior management.

The above list is not an exhaustive list of duties. You will be expected to perform different tasks to meet the organisation’s overall objectives. To access the full job description, please get in touch with [email protected]
