Job Description

The mission of Marist Youth Ministry (MYM) is to make Jesus Christ known and loved among young people, aged between 12 and 25 years, enabling them to grow as lifelong disciples of Jesus, in the way of Mary and St Marcellin Champagnat. Through a variety of youth ministry programs and activities, including Game Changers, MYM provides young people opportunities to deepen their faith through prayer, liturgy, service, solidarity, and a range of local and international volunteering opportunities. MYM operates in partnership with Marist Schools Australia (MSA).

About the Position

Through a variety of youth ministry programs and activities, including Game Changers, MYM provides young people opportunities to deepen their faith through prayer, liturgy, service, solidarity, and a range of local and international volunteering opportunities. MYM operates in partnership with Marist Schools Australia (MSA).

This position reports to the Senior Leader: National Youth Ministry & Formation working closely and collaboratively with them as part of the Marist Youth Ministry (MYM) regional team. They also form close working relationships with the other national MYM team members, Young Marist Volunteers, Marist school staff, and Marist Brothers. The key responsibilities and accountabilities associated with this role include:

  1. Plan, prepare and facilitate youth ministry programs and events for Marist schools in Queensland, Northern Territory & Northern New South Wales.

The MYM Regional Assistant – QLD, NT & Nth NSW is a casual position and is based at Marist Centre Brisbane located within the grounds of Marist College, Ashgrove QLD.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualifications or an interest in any of the following disciplines: Theology, Spirituality, Youth Ministry or Religious Education.
  • Experience preparing and leading student formation programs in either a Catholic school, parish or youth ministry setting.
  • Experience leading prayer and liturgical
