About the role

  • Location: Peter Canisius House, 102 Mona Vale Road, Pymble NSW 2073
  • Part-time, 0.6 (3-days)
  • 4 weeks annual leave, 5-day annual retreat leave

We can structure this 0.6FTE role flexibly for part-time applicants.

The Mission Formation Coordinator is responsible for the annual delivery and development of the Ignis suite of Province-wide cross-ministry Ignatian Formation Programs. This national role involves managing the associated stakeholder relationships and communications, working with Province ministry leaders, Jesuit and Companion Schools Ignatian Coordinators, Ignis Program Facilitators and Program Participants.

The Mission Formation Coordinator reports to JISA’s Executive Director for Mission Formation. This role is based at the JISA National Office in Pymble, Sydney, with the possibility for hybrid working arrangements.

About you

The role requires discerning practical leadership, ensuring the delivery and evolving creative development of the Ignis programs for our contemporary context. Working collaboratively, and at depth, within the 500-year old Jesuit Ignatian heritage, offering transforming opportunities and rewarding relationships.

This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience:

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role for minimum three years
  • Relationship management
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Coordination, organisation skills, logistics and planning

 

Skills:

  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Highly organised, attention to detail, prioritisation and self-management
  • Maturity, calm manner, discretion, reflective, and compassionate disposition
  • Open-minded, creative, and takes initiative within the responsibilities of the position
  • Readiness to deepen understanding of Ignatian spirituality, formation and ministry discernment

 

Knowledge areas:

  • Ignatian spirituality, knowledge and experience
  • Adult learning and/or formation, knowledge and experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, shared directories such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Dropbox and OneDrive and creative applications such as Canva. Capacity and willingness to learn new applications.

Founded by St Ignatius Loyola more than 450 years ago, the Society of Jesus (also known as the Jesuits) is an international religious order of priests and brothers within the Catholic Church committed to service in the world in a variety of ways. JISA is the Spirituality and Formation ministry of the Society of Jesus in Australia and New Zealand. The JISA national office is based in Pymble, Sydney. Our national ministry encapsulates the global Jesuit vision and apostolic preference (UAP1), ‘Showing the Way to God through the Spiritual Exercises and Discernment.’ Our work involves giving the Spiritual Exercises in all their forms, and Ignatian formation for leadership and mission.
