The Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart are a Catholic religious congregation involved in a variety of charitable ministries. We have a central office in North Sydney and regional offices across Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and a presence in some other countries.

The Congregation is governed by the Congregational Leader and her Leadership Team, and each region is led by a Regional Leadership Team.

About the Role

The new role of National Care Services Manager will provide expert advice on all aspects of the aged care sector and will be responsible for the strategic health and wellbeing strategy for the Sisters of Saint Joseph and to oversee and support, via the Regional Leadership Teams, our care and health and wellbeing staff.  While this role provides strategic oversight and support, on a day-to-day basis, the regional care and health and wellbeing staff will continue to report through the regional teams.

The key stakeholders and relationships in this role will be:

• General Manager – day to day direction and guidance (line manager)
• Congregational and Regional Leadership Teams and Sisters in other relevant regional leadership roles. You will offer support as the subject matter expert, providing high level advice, support, and guidance
• Carers, Health and Wellbeing support staff and Nurses. You will provide mentorship,  foster best practice and culture aligned with the needs of the sisters and Josephite charism.
• Josephite Eldering Team. You will consult and seek guidance and input in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of the sisters and any concerns that may arise
• Government bodies and external providers. You will monitor services delivered; ensure that adequate models of care are in place and that Support@Home packages are effectively utilised to provide support to the sisters

This is a permanent, part-time position ideally based in North Sydney, however, other locations will be considered including Adelaide, Brisbane or Melbourne.

About You

For this newly created role, we seek a senior experienced and collaborative aged care sector manager to work and support the Regional teams by creating a strategic plan and direction for the holistic wellbeing and care for the Sisters of the Congregation. You will  work with the Regional Leadership teams and local teams of nurses, personal carers and wellbeing support workers to build a culture built on respect, support and understanding.

The specific selection criteria for this position include:

• Formal qualification/s in a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working at a senior level in the aged care sector or comparable roles.
• In depth knowledge of government aged care regulatory environment including ACAT assessments, Support@Home packages and providers, and residential aged care service arrangements.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic health and wellbeing support services.
• High level written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring, managing and motivating people in carers and health and wellbeing support roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practice and risk management strategies.
• Ability to travel within Australia when required.
