Who we are
The Sisters of Mercy Parramatta is a Catholic women’s religious congregation. Founded in 1888, the Sisters are engaged in many roles and ministries, including in school education; parishes; health; aged care; spirituality and retreat centres; adult education; faith formation; advocacy; and social justice. The Sisters operate both locally and in neighbouring developing countries. Their values are mercy, human dignity, justice, service and option for the poor.
The Congregation Centre is located in Victoria Road, Parramatta, and we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Office All-Rounder to join our supportive team.
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, and as the front-face of the organisation, you will provide reception and general office support to the team at the Congregation Centre.
With your warm and professional manner, you will answer the phone and welcome visitors to our office. You will ensure the mail is collected and distributed daily, and ensure physical and electronic files and other records are properly stored and maintained.
Using your strong organisational skills, you will ensure meeting rooms are set up as required, and that any IT/AV and catering needs are attended to.
As an all-rounder and team-player, you will assist with accounts and invoices and the preparation of correspondence, invitations, flyers and reports, as needed.
The role is an ongoing part-time position, five days a week, ideally to be worked between 9am-3pm, however, for a stand-out candidate, alternative working hours may be considered.

As well as your can-do attitude, warm and professional manner, and willingness to support and uphold the mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy Parramatta, you will ideally meet the following Key Requirements:
- Experience in providing office and administrative support
- High level oral and written communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with the Sisters, staff and external stakeholders
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office suite and competency in IT/AV systems
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Highly organised with ability to multi-task, prioritise duties and meet deadlines
- Reliable and punctual
- Relevant qualifications (desirable)
