About the role

Mercy Community – Aged Care Services are on the search for a Pastoral Carer Lead on a Permanent Part Time basis. This role will be based in Rockhampton. Come join our team and support our residents and their families.

The Pastoral Care is responsible for ensuring the Gospel values, Catholic social teaching, the charism of Mercy, and Mission and Values of Mercy Community are embedded in all aspects of the practices within the organisation. The Pastoral Carer Lead oversights the Pastoral Carer in providing care and support to residents.

Your role involves but not limited to:

  • Lead the pastoral care team in providing a holistic approach to Mercy Community pastoral care services
  • Lead and manage all aspects of chaplaincy and pastoral care
  • Support new residents to aged and community care services, including spiritual-needs assessment for residents

About you

  • Relevant qualifications in Pastoral Care, Theology and/or Spirituality and/or counselling
  • Demonstrated commitment to, knowledge and understanding of the principles of Catholic teaching, tradition and ecumenism
  • Previous experience in a similar role, either in aged care or similar environments beneficial
  • Availability to work weekends and until 7pm if required
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above
