About the role
Mercy Community are on the search for a Pastoral Carer on a Permanent Part Time basis (4 days per week). Your role will be based at our Nudgee Residential Aged Care Facility. Come join our team and support our residents and their families.
This role provides pastoral care and ensuring that Gospel values, Catholic social teaching, the charism of Mercy, and the Mission and Values of the Mercy community are integrated into all practices within the aged care facility. It ensures that daily operations foster a person-centred approach and a faith-filled environment, addressing the spiritual and sacramental needs of clients and residents.
Your role involves but not limited to –
- Provide a holistic and supportive approach to Mercy Community pastoral care services
- Support new residents to aged and community care services, including a spiritual-needs assessment, care plan and progress notes for residents
- Contribute to case conferences, palliative and end of life care, and advance care planning including support and guidance to residents and families.
- Coordinating processional farewells for residents.
About you
- Relevant qualifications in Pastoral Care, Theology and/or Spirituality and/or counselling
- Demonstrated commitment to, knowledge and understanding of the principles of Catholic teaching, tradition and ecumenism
- Previous experience in a similar role, either in aged care or similar environments (desirable)
