About the Opportunity
The College Board invites expressions of interest from outstanding and inspirational educational leaders for the position of Principal to commence in Term 3, 2026. The position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and influence a vibrant, outward looking community with a long tradition of excellence in Catholic education and a proud reputation of empowering young women to discover, pursue and achieve their aspirations.
As leader of the St Vincent’s College community, the Principal is the custodian of a rich and nurturing environment that contributes to the mission of the Catholic Church by enabling students, their parents or carers, and staff to know and love God, and to experience Gospel values in action. The Principal is responsible for inspiring and leading staff and students in their commitment to the core values of the College – Generosity of Spirit, Hope, Justice, Respect and Service of the Poor.
The Principal is accountable to the Board for the educational leadership and administration of the College. As the College is an incorporated public company limited by guarantee with a sole member, Mary Aikenhead Education Limited (MAEL), the Principal also fulfills the function of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the college company. The CEO’s primary objective is to ensure the ongoing success of the company and its business activities such as school operation, by effectively implementing all aspects of the business operations and development with the support of an Executive Team and qualified staff.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a clear capacity to engage in the broader College community, and be able to demonstrate the following:
- That you are personally commited to the teaching and traditons of the Catholic faith and one who is able to invite others into a deeper relationship with God, to live the Gospel, and to uphold the College’s contemporary Catholic identity and commitment to justice
- A capacity for formation in the vision, mission and values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and for promoting the heritage and tradition of the Sisters of Charity in all aspects of College life
- Senior leadership experience in Catholic secondary education
- A capacity to build and maintain strong, effective governance relationships and networks
- A strong and contemporary educational vision that assigns high value to academic achievement, global perspectives and optimal use of learning technologies
- A strong and passionate commitment to student wellbeing
- A demonstrated capacity to lead, motivate and manage staff in a way that is highly relational and upholds high expectations for innovative professional practice
- Experience in facilities development for contemporary learning that supports the transition to tertiary pathways
- Experience in establishing and nurturing partnerships with key stakeholder groups
- Strong administrative, financial planning and management skills
