posted 2 days ago in EducationJob Description
To commence January 2027
The Mt St Michael’s College Board is seeking an exceptional Catholic educational leader to lead the school into its next phase of development. We are seeking an innovative and strategic educator with a passionate commitment to the realisation of every young woman’s potential to achieve her aspirations.
Mt St Michael’s College is an independent Catholic school for girls from Years 5 to 12 under the stewardship of Mary Aitkenhead Ministries. Established in 1925, today Mt St Michael’s is a thriving community of 850 students situated in Ashgrove, Brisbane. Mt St Michael’s College continues to recreate itself, always mindful that the Gospel and the ministry of Jesus is at the heart of all we do. Ensuring that our Mission is embedded in all areas of our education provision, our Catholic identity remains strong and is reflected in our work and how we advocate for all who we serve. The College recognises the need to provide opportunities for young women to develop their gifts and talents, and to explore new horizons that challenge them to excel beyond expectation.
The current College Strategic Plan concludes at the end of 2026, and the Board has discerned that development of the next plan will be one of the first priorities for the new principal. The College Master Plan, currently under development, details the future direction for the development of the College. Key goals for the future include construction of the Amarina Avenue building, and ensuring Mt St Michael’s College continues to be an authentic Mary Aikenhead community.
Current Principal, Ms Sharon Volp is retiring at the end of 2026 after 10 years of dedicated service and leadership.
