Principal, St. Joseph’s Primary School, Jerilderie (NSW)
posted 1 day ago in Education , in LeadershipJob Description
Commencing in Term 4 or 2026 by negotiation, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga is seeking an innovative and experienced educator with a collaborative leadership style for the position of Principal, St. Joseph’s Primary School, Jerilderie.
This role will suit a current or emerging Catholic leader who is committed to the Catholic faith and incorporates this in the values and behaviours of personal and community life, all within a community of 45 highly-engaged learners.
About St. Joseph’s
St Joseph’s Primary School is located in the southern Riverina town of Jerilderie. The school challenges every student to dare to do as much as is within them in our every day opportunities.
St. Joseph’s has an enrolment of 45 students creating three classes, Kinder through to Year 6. As a co-educational systemic Catholic School, the school operates under the guidelines and policies of the Catholic Schools Office in Wagga Wagga.
The school has many modern facilities, whilst still retaining the intimate environment that a small school can provide. The school prides itself on its involvement with the Parish and Jerilderie community.
About JerilderieÂ
Jeriledrie is a quintessentially Australian country town with deep roots in early Australian history. With a population of 1100, it retains proximity to larger regional service cities such as Wagga Wagga and Albury, with both major cities just over 90min away.
The town was given its name by its original custodians, the Jethi people, which means “place of many reeds.” In more recent history, it was the site of Ned Kelly’s penning of “The Jerilderie Letter”, a 56-page manifesto written less than 20 years before the opening of St. Joseph’s.
Jeriledire is the southern gateway to the Kidman Way, a scenic driving route through the heart of NSW. The region is recognised internationally for its contribution to high-end agriculture, including fine merino wool in addition to fresh produce such as olives and organic wine grapes.
