Location:           St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, North Rockhampton (current enrolment approx. 353 students)
TEC Range:       $202,301 – $221,024 (including OSHC Allowance) including 12.75% superannuation
Tenure:               Full Time
Commencing:    19 January 2026

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to lead the school community of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, North Rockhampton commencing January 2026.

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, North Rockhampton is part of a system of kindergartens, primary schools and colleges operated by Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton (CEDR) in rural and regional centres from Mackay, south to Bundaberg, and west to Longreach.

In your role as Principal, you will be supported by the staff of the Catholic Education Office in the areas of Teaching and Learning, Catholic Identity, Indigenous Education, ICT, Finance, Strategy, Business Development, Human Resources and Student Protection.

As Principal at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, North Rockhampton, you will report to the Diocesan Director Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton through the Assistant Director: Schools (Rockhampton Region).

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is located on the northside of Rockhampton. It provides a holistic and authentic Catholic education for approximately 353 students from Prep to Year 6 in a two-stream arrangement and provides programs for Outside School Hours and Vacation Care. St Mary’s Catholic Primary School was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1900 and maintains a strong and proud connection with the founding order.

An essential aspect of student learning development at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is the relationship between school and home, and parental support and participation is welcomed. The school has a wonderful community atmosphere that is very welcoming of new families.

The school motto, ‘To Love and Serve’ is based on the Mercy charism and provides a living example of how interactions occur with each other as positive relationships are built, promoting school and family partnerships, and ensuring close ties with parishioners.
