The administrative office of the Archdiocese, the Chancery, is based at St Marthas, Leichhardt, and the Office Services Team is charged with ensuring the office runs smoothly and that front-desk services are provided in a professional, efficient and welcoming manner.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Receptionist to join our team to support the smooth operations of St Marthas.
About the Role
Reporting to the Office Services Manager and as the initial contact point for the organisation, you will be a warm and welcoming face for visitors, including clergy, parish representatives, contractors and the broader community.
As well as greeting and directing visitors, you will among other responsibilities, answer and direct telephone calls and manage reception enquiries in a professional and courteous manner; ensure the reception is kept tidy; issue visitor passes; assist with meeting room bookings and set-up and with parking bookings; process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries;Â maintain up-to-date contact lists and staff directories; and organise St Marthas celebrant mass roster.
As a team-player and with a flexible approach to work, you will assist colleagues and other departments with general administrative support as needed, including supporting internal events and activities from time to time.
The role is a permanent, full-time position currently based at St Marthas, Leichhardt.
About You
You will have relevant experience as a receptionist or in an office support role, a professional manner and presentation, strong interpersonal skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities; and you will have a commitment to delivering high-quality service in support of the Archdiocese’s pastoral, administrative and operational responsibilities.
Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a receptionist, customer service or administration role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive approach and commitment to providing professional and courteous service and to doing whatever is necessary to ensure deadlines are met
- Ability to act with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality
- Understanding of, and respect for, the ethos and values of the Catholic Church.
