Kildare Ministries is seeking a highly capable and values-driven Policy, Risk and Assurance Manager to play a key leadership role in strengthening governance, risk and assurance practices across our ministries.

The Trustees of Kildare Ministries hold civil and canonical responsibility for ten schools and three community works, continuing the legacy of the Brigidine Sisters Australia and the Presentation Sisters Victoria. They steward this heritage into the future through governance structures, including incorporated Boards such as Kildare Education Ministries.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Policy, Risk and Assurance Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Trustees and Kildare Education Ministries Board through:

  • Leading enterprise risk management and resilience strategies
  • Strengthening governance, compliance and assurance frameworks
  • Supporting Board and Committee processes with high-quality advice and reporting
  • Building a proactive, consistent risk culture across ministries

The role works across both Kildare Ministries and Kildare Education Ministries, partnering closely with senior leaders, Boards and risk coordinators to ensure effective, aligned and contemporary practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve enterprise risk and assurance frameworks
  • Oversee risk registers, policy frameworks and review cycles
  • Coordinate internal audit, safeguarding and annual assurance processes
  • Support governance committees with papers, insights and advice
  • Build capability across ministries through collaboration and coaching
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in systems and practices

About You

You are a strategic and relational leader who brings:

  • Commitment to the mission, values, and Catholic ethos of Kildare Ministries
  • Significant experience in risk, assurance or compliance within complex organisations
  • Strong understanding of governance and risk frameworks (e.g. ISO 31000)
  • Experience working with Boards, Committees and senior stakeholders
  • Understanding of the legislative and regulatory context for schools
  • Exceptional communication and report writing skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative approach
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
