Guided by the spirit of Saint Mary MacKillop, our centres offer quiet, beauty, peace and welcome. Through a newly adopted “whole of ministry” framework, we are reimagining how our spirituality and heritage centres serve the evolving needs of the Church and the wider community.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Sales and Business Development Manager to lead national sales growth and centralised bookings for the Mary MacKillop Spirituality Ministry.
This pivotal leadership role is responsible for expanding our customer base, strengthening strategic partnerships, increasing utilisation of our centres, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth aligned with our Mission, Vision and Values.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and implement annual sales and business development plans
- Identify and secure new partnerships and revenue opportunities
- Prepare proposals, quotes and tailored client packages
- Promote programs and accommodation services to Catholic schools, parishes, dioceses, religious orders, community and corporate groups
- Analyse market trends and recommend strategic improvements
Leadership & Governance
- Actively contribute as a member of the Leadership Team
- Lead and support the national sales and bookings function
- Drive strategic initiatives aligned with the MMSM Strategic Plan
- Model organisational values and foster a culture of hospitality and collaboration
Customer Relationship Management
- Oversee all customer enquiries through the centralised bookings team
- Build strong, long-term client relationships
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention and repeat business
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
Marketing, Reporting & Systems
- Contribute to marketing and promotional initiatives
- Represent MMSM at events, conferences and networking opportunities
- Oversee RMS and associated online booking platforms
- Prepare sales forecasts, reports and performance analysis
- Monitor pipelines and revenue performance
Finance, WHS & Safeguarding
- Meet financial targets and manage budgets responsibly
- Work closely with Finance and Corporate Services
- Comply with WHS and safeguarding policies and training requirements
- Incumbents in this position are required to hold a State-based Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
About You
You are a strategic, relationship-focused sales leader who is motivated by purpose as much as performance. You bring strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to mission-based work.
Travel will be required from time to time.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in business, sales, marketing or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, business development or relationship management
- Proven ability to manage pipelines, develop proposals and drive revenue
- Experience using booking or CRM systems (RMS highly desirable)
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Alignment with the Purpose, Mission and Values of the Spirituality Ministry
Desirable
- Experience in a religious, spirituality-based or not-for-profit environment
