Job Description

Kildare Education Ministries invites dynamic and inspirational Catholic educators to apply for Principalship of Killester College, either as sole Principal or Co-Principal.

Killester College is a Catholic secondary girls’ school in Springvale, Victoria, of 980 students. This diverse and inclusive community respects the uniqueness of each individual and empowers students to live with Strength and Kindliness.

The points below outline key aspects of the Principal’s responsibility.

  • Authority of the Principal: The Principal is the primary decision-maker of the school, acting with delegated authority from the employer, the Kildare Education Ministries (KEM) Board.
  • Accountability: The Principal is accountable to the KEM Board, which in turn reports to the Trustees of Kildare Ministries (TKM).
  • Governance: The principal is designated by the KEM Board to carry out governance responsibilities including compliance, leadership and accountability of staff, adherence to KEM policies and requirements, child safeguarding and monitoring of staff, contractors and volunteers.
  • Stewardship of Physical Resources: Exercising diligent stewardship in the care, maintenance and development of the school property and its assets.
  • Leading the School: Principals lead KEM schools in regard to: Mission and Culture; Teaching, Learning and Wellbeing; Improvement, Innovation and Change; the Administration and Management of the School; and Wider Community Engagement.

The position commences July 21, 2025.
