Job Description

The Opportunity

Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) is seeking a passionate and faith-filled Student Formation Officer to join our Catholic Identity and Mission team.

Working in partnership with school leaders, educators and students, you will play a key role in supporting the formation of young people and promoting their active participation in the mission and life of Catholic schools. This role provides an exciting opportunity to shape a system-wide approach to student formation through leadership development, faith formation programs, resource development and collaboration with schools across South Australia.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting student formation initiatives across Catholic schools.
  • Building the capacity of school leaders and teachers to support student faith formation.
  • Facilitating student leadership opportunities grounded in listening, dialogue and discernment.
  • Developing resources that support prayer, spirituality, justice, advocacy and ecological conversion.
  • Supporting schools to design and implement whole-school approaches to student formation.
  • Collaborating with schools and key partners to deliver formation programs and events.

About You

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has experience working with and engaging young people in faith formation, leadership development or youth ministry.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Understands contemporary approaches to student formation and youth engagement.
  • Builds positive relationships and works collaboratively with schools and stakeholders.
  • Has strong communication, organisational and facilitation skills.
  • Is an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community.

Teachers with registration and accreditation to teach in a Catholic school, along with experience working with students from Years 6-12, will be highly regarded.
