Community Engagement Manager (Contract: part-time engagement)
Contract: Ongoing contractor engagement

Hours: Part-time engagement, with an expected commitment of approximately 1 day per week on average, depending on project requirements. The engagement is outcome-focused rather than based on fixed hours or days.

Purpose of the Role

The Community Engagement Manager drives Mary’s Meals’ mission by building awareness, engagement, and participation across schools, churches and local communities. This role combines administrative support, cultivating relationships with partners, practical logistics and volunteer and supporter engagement, to ensure awareness of Mary’s Meals in key networks.

Key Responsibilities

Church Presenter Movement

• Coordinate church presenter contractor staff to deliver local church presentations, providing training, resources and logistical support as required.
• Ensure supply pipeline of marketing collateral to church presenters.
• Follow up enquiries and opportunities, coordinate next steps and facilitate introductions/presentations where appropriate.
• Conduct monthly Zoom meets with church presenters and church presenter group to provide pastoral and logistical support.
• Oversee recruitment process to engage more church presenter contractors where necessary.
• Provide a short monthly update to the National Lead covering activity, opportunities, challenges, pipeline and next steps.

Volunteer Engagement

• Facilitate discovery calls and check-in conversations with prospective and current volunteers, encouraging and equipping them with any necessary resources.
• Update and maintain volunteer database.
• Ignite, resource and manage local church supporter groups to sustain ongoing activity and awareness, with a particular focus on Whatsapp engagement and church presentations.

• Experience coordinating volunteers, staff or community-based initiatives is ideal.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Basic proficiency with Zoom, Google/Microsoft tools, WhatsApp and CRM/database systems.
• Able to procure own criminal check and working with children’s check.
