Job Description

The National Catholic Education Commission is Australia’s peak national body for Catholic schools.  It leads advocacy for school education and funding and works closely with state and territory Catholic education commissions and other Catholic education stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to join a strong and influential organisation and drive the implementation of key strategic priorities of faith, excellence and access.

Your work as the Executive Officer plays an essential role in developing and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, meeting co-ordination, research support and effective information flows.

While based in Melbourne, you will be required to travel with the Executive Director from time to time (about 25%).

The role:

  • Provide executive support to the Executive Director
  • Manage diary, accommodation, travel, and obtain the necessary briefing from team members
  • Support the Executive Director when required on interest
  • Manage correspondence and ensure all key dates are met

Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Officer or Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Highly proficient IT and AV skills, including Microsoft Office suit.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in executive support and/or administration.
  • Current Working with Children Check and driver’s licence
  • Understanding the Catholic Church, its mission, opportunities, and challenges.
