Established in 1868, St James College was the first Catholic boys’ school in Queensland and one of the first three schools in the colony of Moreton Bay. Now, St James is a co-educational college for students from Years 5-12, with over 660 enrolled students.

Under the governance of the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition, St James encompasses the four Edmund Rice Touchstones of: Liberating Education, Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community, and Justice and Solidarity.

The college welcomes families from many faith traditions and promotes strong ecumenical and interfaith understanding. St James College strives to cater for each and every one of their students. In this way, the College help students to develop a sense of self, a sense of direction, and their technical and enterprise skills to equip them to step into credential pathways.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional credentials as a Catholic educator, demonstrating a proven record of successful leadership. He or she will be capable of cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, school growth and sustainability across all aspects of the College, with a strong interest in both academic and pastoral areas, and preferably with some experience of Master Planning.
