The countdown is on for the 2025 Australian Catholic Education Conference hosted by the National Catholic Education Commission and host diocese, Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns.
The conference will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre in Far North Queensland on August 20-22, 2025.
This triennial event is expected to attract about1500 delegates, including Catholic educators, leaders, clergy, parents, and others involved in Catholic education.
Under the theme “hope, anchored in faith”, the conference aims to provide a professional learning experience focused on the strategic vision and mission of Catholic education across three key areas – faith, excellence and access.
The conference will feature a broad range of speakers who will be announced in the coming weeks, as well as presentations and workshops focusing on topics such as Catholic identity, mission and formation; learning and teaching; leadership and governance; parent engagement; parish and community engagement, resourcing and infrastructure; advocacy and marketing; and more.
National Catholic Education executive director Jacinta Collins said Cairns would provide a “spectacular venue” for the conference “because of the rich history and heritage of First Nations peoples, and the contribution of the Church in education since our earliest days including the first school opened on Thursday Island in 1887.”
“The conference provides an invaluable opportunity for Catholic educators, leaders, clergy and religious, parents and many others involved in Catholic education to learn, be inspired, be challenged, share faith and friendship.”
Early bird registrations and abstract submissions are expected to open in October. Details: www.2025ACEC.edu.au.
