In exchange, the US has agreed to immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume security assistance with Ukraine.
Ukrainian and US officials have been meeting in the city of Jeddah, discussing the future of the three-year-long conflict.
In a joint statement by the Ukrainian and US delegations, the officials said the offer would now be taken to the Russians for approval.
The statement said Ukraine “expressed readiness” to accept a US proposal to enact a 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
The ceasefire “is subject to acceptance and concurrent implementation by the Russian Federation”.
The statement also outlined that Ukraine had reiterated “strong gratitude” towards US President Donald Trump, the US Congress and the people of the US for their support.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine welcomed this proposal and considered it positive, citing that “we are ready to take such a step” during his evening address.
“The United States of America has to convince Russia to do this,” Mr Zelenskyy said.
“So we agree, and if the Russians agree, the ceasefire will work at that very moment,” he added.
“The American side understands our arguments, perceives our proposals, and I want to thank President Trump for the constructive conversation between our teams.”
The Trump administration has been pushing Ukraine into reaching a “deal” to end the more than three-year war with Russia.
Moscow has previously rejected any temporary ceasefire.
