Providing services that span foster care, mental health support, homelessness services, and aged care, Marymead CatholicCare remains deeply committed to human dignity and the common good.
“Our mission is to walk alongside individuals and families, offering them the care and support they need to thrive,” Marymead chief executive Anne Kirwan said.
“We see firsthand the difference that holistic, person-centred services can make, and we remain committed to fostering a community where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and purpose.”
Catholic Social Services Australia executive director Jerry Nockles expressed his admiration for their commitment to elevating human potential during his visit to Marymead’s facilities.
“Marymead CatholicCare’s work exemplifies the power of compassionate care,” Dr Nockles said.
“Their holistic approach to supporting individuals and families aligns perfectly with the values of human dignity and social justice. Their services should serve as a model for policymakers as we strive to build a more inclusive and caring society.
”As we approach the upcoming election, it is crucial that policy development focuses on the common good rather than being driven by sectional interests or influenced by polls and focus groups.
“Organisations like Marymead CatholicCare demonstrate the profound impact of community-focused services, and their model should inform our national approach to social services.”
Marymead CatholicCare is fundraising the 2025 Canberra Day Appeal, with the goal of raising $10,000 to support adults, young people and children at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
