The Australasian Catholic Press Association has announced its annual conference and award night will be held at the Pavilion on Northbourne in Canberra in September.

Set within the context of the Jubilee Year, the conference theme will be “Messengers of Hope: Communicating the truth, beauty and goodness of our faith.”

The September 2-4 conference will include an annual Conference Mass at St Christopher’s Cathedral, celebrated by Canberra-Goulburn Archbishop Christopher Prowse, followed by the ACPA Awards night and dinner.

ACPA President Jamie O’Brien said this year’s conference will provide Catholic media and communications professionals across Australia, New Zealand and wider Oceania an opportunity to come together to reflect, engage and deepen the call to be messengers of hope.

“With a strong line-up of speakers, the conference will be of great source of knowledge sharing and networking for Catholic communications and media professionals across our parishes, publications, dioceses, religious communities, Catholic institutes of education and other professional organisations,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Formation is a key component of this Jubilee Year, so I encourage all interested professionals to register,” he said.

Mr O’Brien encouraged ACPA members and non-ACPA members alike to come together for this once-a-year opportunity.

“Our thanks to the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn for opening your diocese to ACPA,” Mr O’Brien said.
