Catholic Religious Australia has captured the spirit of the Jubilee Year by releasing a song and music video, that expresses the wide range of ministries in which Religious women and men live and share the joy of the Gospel.
“Music speaks in ways beyond words, and we sought this medium to give creative expression to the joy and hope that is the essence of religious living,” CRA President, Br Gerard Brady CFC, said.
CRA commissioned Simon Hyland to compose the song for the Jubilee of Consecrated Life as a uniquely Australian musical contribution to the year-long celebration of the Jubilee Year.
The song, Journey of Faith – CRA, is inspired by St Paul’s words in his Letter to the Romans (15:13): “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
The call to Religious to be pilgrims of hope for peace is a feature of the song.
The music video features congregations of religious life in varied ministries such as prayer, education, welfare, health and aged care.
“You’ll see Religious on dusty roads, in formal Church settings, ministering in hospitals, parishes, refugee centres and countless other scenes living out the joy of being called as consecrated women and men,” Anne Walker, national executive director of CRA, said.
“It’s a song and music video that could be used widely in a variety of settings, and people are most welcome to download it.”
Journey of Faith – CRA can be found on online music platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, Amazon, Deezer, Instagram and Tidal.
The lyrics and music video can be accessed at CRA’s Jubilee webpage and on CRA’s YouTube channel.
All information about the Jubilee Year can be found on the CRA website, including celebrations, a prayer service and a pilgrimage.
