Artificial intelligence expert Joel Pearson, motivational speaker and London bombing survivor Gill Hicks and health economist Stephen Duckett will speak at Catholic Health Australia’s annual conference next month.

Department of Health and Aged Care secretary Blair Comley and New South Wales deputy premier Prue Car are also among speakers for the conference, to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney from August 26-28.

The conference theme is “Rejoice, Reimagine – where we Rejoice at our journey and Reimagine the future of Mission-led health and aged care”.

Professor Pearson, a leading neuroscientist, psychologist, and author, will provide insights on the AI revolution and its implications for healthcare, offering valuable perspectives on the future of medical technology and patient care.

Dr Duckett, a distinguished economist and author, will bring his extensive knowledge of health policy and economics to the conference.

The conference brings together CEOs and senior leaders from Catholic Health Australia’s membership, which is Australia’s largest non-government group of health and aged care providers.

The conference will also feature a series of workshops focusing on critical issues in health, aged care and mission, including aged care funding reforms, hospital-in-the-home care and digital innovation.

“We are delighted to bring together such a diverse and accomplished group of speakers for this year’s annual conference,” Catholic Health Australia CEO Jason Kara said.

“Their expertise will provide delegates with valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing health and aged care services in Australia, particularly in the not for profit sector.

“The series of workshops will also represent a great opportunity to meet colleagues, delve deeper into these topics and share experiences.”
