When the Sydney Centre for Evangelisation first began connecting with international guests and collaborators in its mission to form missionary disciples, it quickly became clear that not every story or insight could fit into print or make it onto the main stage.
Some of the richest moments – heartfelt testimonies, unguarded reflections, and Spirit-filled stories shared at conferences and gatherings, often only heard by participants – remained largely inaccessible to wider audiences. Now, those moments have found a new home.
Launching as Advent approaches, Grace Abounds presents extended content from the centre’s conversations with international speakers, contributors, and collaborators.
Some episodes feature moments from the main stage previously experienced only by attendees, while others highlight reflections that go beyond what appears in published interviews.
Listeners can expect occasional full-length interviews, testimonies that didn’t make the final edit, and unfiltered moments that offer deeper insight into the Word and the Church’s evangelising mission. It is not a regular series, but an occasional opportunity to listen deeper, when there is more to share and more to hear.
The first four episodes include previously unshared interviews and addresses. Sr Miriam James Heidland SOLT and Fr John Burns, who were in Sydney recently, share reflections on their ministry of healing and the life of the church.
Sr Mary Grace discusses her hopes for her upcoming visit home to Australia for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Melbourne, as well as her upcoming Advent women’s retreat and university ministry in Sydney.
Bishop Michael Gielen contributes insights from the recent Alpha Australia conference for Catholics held in Liverpool, while Daniel Ang, Director of the Sydney Centre for Evangelisation, is featured from the same conference, offering a theological and pastoral reflection on hope as a challenge to renewing our lives and communities in Christ.
