In You, Me & Tuscany, a woman crashes at an empty Italian villa and, posing as the owner’s fiancée, discovers an unexpected romance that could transform her life. Source: Australian Catholics.
Anna (Bailey) is grieving the death of her mother. She gives up her cooking course and is minding houses but has an ambition to travel to Tuscany.
By chance she meets a charming Italian, who explains he has an empty mansion in Tuscany.
Anna heads to Italy, settles into the mansion and finds an engagement ring there, which she tries on her finger and, of course, can’t get it off – cue a delighted family, thrilled that their wandering and wayward son has become engaged and enjoy a happy ever after with his new bride.
There is a cheerful atmosphere all the way through, even though Anna should reveal the truth.
The screenplay is predictable, especially when her first encounter is with a good-looking man who is rather offhand with her and she demands an apology.
Since he is played by the star of the film, Regé-Jean Page (of Bridgerton fame), we immediately guess that there will be love, complications and consequences of Anna’s lying.
This is a film for audiences who delight in seeing the Tuscan countryside, vineyards, festivities, celebrations, kitchens and big meals.
