The National Catholic Education Commission has launched a redesigned website to showcase Catholic education, including a new resource centre, media centre and directory for Catholic education peak bodies and school authorities.
NCEC executive director Jacinta Collins said the new-look website will enable the latest research, data and case studies from Catholic schools and dioceses to be featured and easily explored.
“The result of many months of hard work and consultation, the website is an important development allowing educators, families and other visitors to explore Australian Catholic education, our national strategic priorities and projects and, as we continue to build the website, to see examples of best-practice across our schools and dioceses,” Ms Collins said.
“Parents are also able to access information on the Australian curriculum, safety and wellbeing, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, inclusive education and disability, as well as early childhood education and school enrolment.
“The new resource centre allows visitors to easily search for articles, submissions, research and data, case studies as well as national publications to support school communities in faith formation and religious education, learning and teaching, teacher workforce initiatives, improving access to Catholic schools and early childhood education and care services, and Catholic education policy developments.”
The NCEC’s popular Scripture for teachers site (www.scripture.catholic.edu.au) has been integrated into the main website and over time will feature new Gospel commentaries.
“We will continue to build on our national resources for faith formation and religious education, including resources for staff, students and parents,” Ms Collins said.
