Kevin James in Solo Mio (IMDB)

In Solo Mio, a stranded groom in Rome finds his ruined honeymoon transformed by a determined local and a few meddling travellers. Source: Australian Catholics.

Many audiences, overwhelmed by so many action shows, often say that they would like to see something pleasing and easy to watch with interesting and engaging characters – and a touch of travel – which is what Solo Mio provides.

The film has the endorsement of Angel Studios, which produces many faith-based films (and, surprisingly, here in a supporting role is Jonathan Roumi, who plays Jesus in The Chosen).

Kevin James stars as Matt Taylor, the jilted groom who planned to marry in Rome, but decides to go solo on his cycling honeymoon tour with groups of honeymooners.

Two couples in particular take on Matt to try to bring him out of himself in his upset.

The main person who helps is the owner of a café bar, Gia (Grimaudo), a vivacious personality that everyone, especially the audience, cannot help but like. Gia certainly charms us all.

She takes Matt under her wing, encouraging him, consoling him, even taking him and his fellow honeymooners when the group goes to Tuscany, to visit her family.

The film has a surprising twist and a happy ending, making for a pleasant outing.
