After a six-month strategic review, Brisbane Catholic Education will integrate its Catholic Identity and Religious Education teams to focus on formation and engagement across its South East Queensland school communities.

The fully integrated Catholic Formation and Engagement Team will include key elements of religious education, student, leadership, staff and family formation, and enhancing faith leadership.

The comprehensive review engaged current principals, school leadership and staff, campus ministers, organisation senior leaders, Archbishop Mark Coleridge, and senior Archdiocesan staff and clergy.

Brisbane Catholic Education’s Head of Catholic Identity, Sharon O’Keeffe, said the genuine and passionate engagement within this review confirmed that across the Archdiocese of Brisbane and the Brisbane Catholic Education community, its commitment to Catholic Identity is foundational to all it does and highly valued.

“The new service delivery model will allow consistent support to all schools and colleges and support multi-skilled service delivery teams aligned to the broader BCE processes and structures,” she said.

“This new team will continue the focus of providing sample units in Religious Education, Early Career and Leadership Formation, and enhanced Family Engagement & Formation.”

BCE will transition to this updated model during 2024, setting out priorities that will optimise impact long-term and reach across the Archdiocese for its students, staff, and families.
