Brother Andrew Tran Le Phuong is in Australia for World Mission Month (Catholic Mission)

One person who resonates with this work is Br Andrew Tran Le Phuong SDB, a Salesian missionary in Mongolia who dedicates himself to empowering young people through education and to providing health access to all.

Catholic Mission has welcomed Br Andrew to Australia for World Mission Sunday and the month-long observation of World Mission Month, which celebrates the life-changing work of missionaries around the globe.

Br Andrew leads significant projects in Mongolia, including the House of Mercy and the Don Bosco Caring Centre. These projects embody the spirit of World Mission Month by bringing much-needed education, care and hope to people living at the margins of society.

One of the many lives changed through Br Andrew’s work is Chuluunbaatar, a man who found shelter at the House of Mercy, after a serious injury that left him facing homelessness.

At the House of Mercy, Chuluunbaatar was able to receive warm meals, medical support, and emotional care that helped him rebuild his life.

“I know what I will do today and tomorrow. It gives me a very nice hope,” Chuluunbaatar says.
