Catholic Schools Broken Bay’s new incorporated structure from 2025 will be supported by a “Shared Mission Principles” document to protect and strengthen Catholic education in the diocese.

Broken Bay Bishop Anthony Randazzo announced in September that Catholic Schools Broken Bay will operate under a new incorporated structure from January 1, after having developed civil structures that are fully aligned with duties and obligations for education in the Code of Canon Law.

The Shared Mission Principles is a companion document that reinforces the bishop’s commitment to providing compassionate, faith-filled, and academically excellent Catholic education.

The document outlines specific responsibilities and sets a clear vision for collaboration between parishes and parish priests, educational leaders and parents.

The Shared Mission Principles document was recently workshopped in sessions across the diocese with clergy, principals and parent engagement coordinators, at which opportunities to strengthen Catholic education were explored.

Bishop Randazzo said the principles are “our blueprint for Catholic education in Broken Bay”,

“They call us to walk together, each playing a unique role to ensure every student is known, valued, and deeply supported in both faith and learning. In this way, we are not only shaping minds but also forming hearts in Christ,” he said.

He also emphasised the vital role of these principles in fostering a Catholic education that is both grounded in the Church’s Tradition and academically rigorous.

Catholic Schools Broken Bay director of schools Danny Casey said the Shared Mission Principles “speak to the heart of our mission – to support every student and family with an education that is academically strong and spiritually fulfilling.

“The principles are our commitment to ensuring we provide the very best in Catholic education as we move forward as an incorporated entity.”
