Catholic Schools NSW is set to start the new year with two new members of its leadership team as Marita Winters and Jeremy Gasperov start with the peak body in January. Source: The Catholic Weekly.
The appointments come following the departure of former deputy chief executive officer Danielle Cronin, who will become the executive director at Sydney Catholic Schools, and the retirement of chief operating officer Bernard Ryall after many years of service to Catholic education.
Mrs Winters, the CEO of Mary Aikenhead Ministries, has almost 25 years of service to the Church, having served as the CEO of Dominican Education Australia and held positions for Cardinal Edward Clancy and Cardinal George Pell.
“I am delighted to be taking up this new opportunity to contribute to Catholic education in NSW. I look forward to joining Dallas and the team in this important work,” Ms Winters said.
CSNSW CEO Dallas McInerney cited Mrs Winters’ impressive resume, which includes serving as a member of the Australian Catholic University Senate and chair of the New South Wales Chapter of ACU.
“Marita Winters is one of the most respected lay leaders in the Australian Church, with senior experience across several ministries,” Mr McInerney said.
Joining her will be new chief operating officer Jeremy Gasperov, who is finishing his tenure with Greyhound Racing NSW. Prior to this, Mr Gasperov served six years at NSW Treasury and previously held roles at several banks.
Mr Gasperov said he was thrilled to be entering into the service of Catholic education.
“As a Catholic and as someone committed to the values of this organisation – service, accountability, integrity, and collegiality – I am inspired by the opportunity to contribute to the organisation’s success given the impact and responsibility we have in ensuring our schools remain places of faith and excellence,” Mr Gasperov said.
