Fu Jen Catholic University and Notre Dame Australia representatives in Sydney on Monday (UNDA)

The University of Notre Dame Australia has strengthened its long-standing international partnership with Fu Jen Catholic University Taiwan, following yesterday’s delegation visit to its Sydney campus.

The visit builds on more than two decades of partnership and cooperation between the two Catholic institutions and follows the signing of a five-year memorandum of understanding and student exchange agreement in 2024 and a delegation visit to the Fremantle Campus in 2025.

Led by President Professor Francis Yi-Chen Lan, the Fu Jen delegation met with Notre Dame leadership and staff to deepen academic connections and explore a broader range of project opportunities, including student exchange and short-term study experiences.

Notre Dame Deputy Vice Chancellor Alex Frino said the visit represented a key step in advancing collaboration and delivering tangible outcomes.

“It was a pleasure to welcome Professor Lan and his delegation of sixteen senior colleagues to our Broadway campus as we continue to build on this important international relationship,” he said.

“Our discussions reaffirmed the strong alignment between our institutions and identified exciting opportunities to expand collaboration in ways that will benefit our students, staff and research communities.”

The program for the visit included formal presentations from both institutions and a campus tour of Notre Dame’s Broadway Campus.

Fu Jen Catholic University, based in New Taipei City, is one of Taiwan’s leading private Catholic universities.

As both universities continue to build on their shared Catholic identity and commitment to international engagement, the partnership is expected to drive expanded exchange, research cooperation and cross-cultural understanding in the years ahead.
